Cosmic Kaleidoscope is an experimental documentary that explores humanity’s mysterious fascination towards light sources, flame, and images. The film juxtaposes the Apollo 1 fire and the Apollo 11 manned moon exploration space launch pad- monumental space exploration relics of 20th-century Western society - with Aztec mythology and the legend of the moon rabbit. The futuristic structures of the past, resembling dilapidated temples, were ultimate byproducts of the Cold War tensions. Still, they epitomize mankind’s endless longing for the stars and the unknown.
코스믹 칼레이도스코프 는 광원과 빛, 불, 이미지를 향한 인류의 매혹에 관한 실험 다큐멘터리이다. 이 작품은 20세기 서구 사회의 기념비적인 우주 탐험 유물인 아폴로 1호 화재 사고와 아폴로 11호 유인 달탐사 우주 발사대를 아즈텍 신화와 달 토끼 신화를 통해 재조명한다. 폐허가 된 사원을 연상케 하는 과거의 미래적 건축물은 결국 냉전의 산물이면서도 별과 미지의 세계에 대한 인류의 끝없는 갈망을 반영하기도 한다.
