Remixing Timespace (2016) explores humanity’s ongoing attempts to transcend two of our greatest limitations: time and Earth itself. What stood out the most in this work were the pieces of music humanity has sent into space. The video features music launched into space in 1970s, music videos, and even a track transmitted from Mars to Earth in 2013. Incorporating these sounds—along with references like Afrofuturism—the video takes the form of a nonlinear music video. If the Golden Record reflects the ritualistic and utopian dreams of space and the future that humanity held up until the 1970s, then Reach for the Stars (2013) symbolizes the industrialized fantasies of space shaped by tech corporations in the 21st century.
